Drive Axle Shaft Assembly Set

The bolts that secure the rear hubs to the axles on certain 2021-2025 Ford F-150 trucks equipped with the Max Tow package have been known to shear off after a modest number of towing trips, ventures offroad or even day-to-day driving. Failure symptoms include the sound of brakes dragging (a result of the brake rotor moving freely against the hub), a rattle caused by the sheared bolt head trapped inside the assembly and in extreme cases, severe changes in truck handling. The dealer solution is to replace the axle assembly with the same original equipment design, inviting a future similar failure. This Dorman OE FIX axle assembly set eliminates the thin-walled internally-threaded axle ends of the factory shaft design and the failure-prone bolt that connects to the hub. Our upgraded axle shafts feature externally-threaded male ends and matching nuts to capture the axle ends, resulting in more secure connections between the hubs and the axles. The entire set is designed for a straightforward installation and a longer-lasting repair that can prevent potentially dangerous vehicle control issues and multiple dealership repair visits that keep a vehicle out of commission for several days. This kit contains the axle shafts, spacers and nuts required to replace one left rear axle assembly and one right rear axle assembly.
